I am always inspired by the women who work at On Balance Studio in Kailua. Owner Lisa Ortega-Robertson is an inspiration in herself, of course, as she is a single mother who owns her own business yet manages to balance her life beautifully. (Guess all the balance training that goes with Pilates also helps with mental balance.)
All of the teachers – Jessica Dung, Pam Sandridge, Heather Ardoin, Wainani Hansen, Debbie Kim and Joji Baptiste – have a certain glow about them. Their enviable bodies come from many years of Pilates, yoga, dance and other forms of exercise, but there’s something that seems to come from within as well. I always want to ask them what they eat.
So I asked. Turns out Joji Baptiste introduced them all to a Green Drink and they swear by it. Here’s the recipe in case you want to see if it can help you glow with health as well:
3 greens of choice (dark leafy vegetables such as kale, collard greens, choi sum, Swiss chard, parsley, etc.)
1 green apple
Cucumber to taste
Simply juice it all up and add ice.
