Tyson Joines to style Grammy artist Orianthi

Australian guitarist Orianthi

While we all gather up our snacks in preparation for couch potatodom during tonight’s Grammy Awards, Fashion Forum member Tyson Joines is in Los Angeles preparing to style vocalist/guitarist Orianthi. He’s probably going a little crazy right now. As of Friday he was preparing for his Saturday flight and wondering whether Orianthi would make it in time; she was in Australia for a tour of her home country; she hails from Adelaide.

How did this Grammy gig come about? Tyson met Orianthi when she was in Honolulu for her Band Camp performance and he did an informal interview with her. “She’s such a sweet girl. I basically told her I was really involved in fashion and I would love the opportunity to style her. We’ve been in touch ever since and she asked me to style her for the Grammys.”

Orianthi has shared stages with Prince, ZZ Top and Carrie Underwood. She was also Michael Jackson’s guitar player in the “This is It” documentary. Carlos Santana called Orianthi “a seriously ass-whoopin'” guitarist.

More news from Tyson: He recently signed on with Kecia Littman’s Bella Beauty Agency in the areas of wardrobe, styling and production.

We’ll catch up with Tyson when he returns from L.A. to hear more about styling at the Grammys.
